Down to the Final Four

The conference finals in the NBA play-offs start tonight in Boston. The Celtics will be playing the Pistons for a spot in the Finals against the winner of the Lakers and Spurs series.  The NBA has to want a Celtics/Lakers match-up, having the Finals played between the NBA’s two most storied franchises with two of the most popular players would bring in monster ratings and new fans.  A Spurs/Pistons match-up would drive fans away quicker than my dog’s gas, even though the Spurs have been a great team the last 10 years they do not excite many casual fans and many people dislike the Pistons because of Rasheed Wallace and his antics.

I remember watching the epic match-ups between the Lakers and Celtics in the ’80s and the duels between Larry and Magic.  As a casual fan who wants to embrace the NBA again I am rooting for a Lakers/Celtics match-up.  If it turns out to be a Pistons/Spurs final I may watch but I would be bored watching the teams struggle to score 90 points.  A Pistons/Spurs final would also be a horrible, horrible way to end what has been one of the most entertaining seasons in NBA history.

definitely agree…the only draw back is kobe and his antics. it’s not the lakers of old…but that would have to be the best that the NBA can hope for at this point…

I’m still in denial that Cleveland forgot how to play basketball and resorted to some type of badminton-candid-thoughts-of-anything-sportslike
